The short version
You don’t need an account to play, and we don’t ask for your name or email. Your games are saved in your own browser, not on our servers. Only if you choose to join a leaderboard do we receive anything, and then only your chosen display name and your scores.
What is stored on your device
- Saved games, so you can continue where you left off.
- Your settings, such as light or dark theme.
This uses your browser’s local storage. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings, which also deletes your saved games.
Leaderboards (only if you join)
The weekly leaderboards are optional. If you choose to join, we store:
- The display name you pick, shown publicly next to your scores. Please don’t use your full real name.
- Your leaderboard results: which daily puzzles you solved and your arcade scores, with the time they were added. To check a result is genuine we receive your finished puzzle or the moves of your game, which are used only for that check and are not kept.
- A private key stored on your device that proves the name is yours. We keep only a scrambled (hashed) copy of it.
To stop spam we briefly count requests using a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address; it is not stored with your name or scores. You can change your name or remove your name and every score at any time from the leaderboard page.
What our host sees
Like every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) receives standard technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address and browser type, and may keep it briefly in logs for security and reliability.
Fonts and images
Fonts and images are served from our own site. We don’t load fonts or scripts from other companies.
Advertising
We don’t show ads yet. If we add them in future, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
